Watch me talk about Motele Schlein, a 12-year-old Jewish partisan who was hired to play the violin at a Nazi Soldiers Club.
I am curious to know how Motele ended up meeting Commander Moshe. Was there any record or specifics on how he joined the partisan group?
Thanks for sharing his story.
Uncle Misha’s son Simcha discovered Motele living in the forest and brought him into Uncle Misha’s Jewish Group. That story, which Uncle Misha chronicled this in his Yiddish biography of Motele, is in Chapter 6 of Violins of Hope.
